Two bosses of an Indian restaurant in Plymouth have pleaded guilty to four offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Taklus Hussain and Faizul Hoque were each fined £4,000 and ordered to pay £2,300 each in costs after a fire last November at the Mutley Spice restaurant in Mutley. more info
A private sector landlord has been fined for breaching fire safety regulations and managing a 'house of multiple occupation' without a license. Mr Warwick Armsby-Ward pleaded guilty at Brighton Magistrates Court and was fined £2,000, plus £750 costs. more info
A luxury hotel near Manchester has had to pay £127,000 for what a judge called a ‘cavalier disregard' for the safety of guests. Hallmark Hotels pleaded guilty to three breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 at Chester Crown Court yesterday. more info
